WRV 1977 Automatique «Eclipse»
The solar eclipse is a very rare phenomenon that occurs when the moon is placed in front of the sun, partially or totally obscuring the Sun from planet Earth. This phenomenon occurs only during the new Moon, when the Moon and the Sun are lined up with the Earth.
The latest one to date, Tuesday July 2nd, 2019, was visible from South America and lasted less than three minutes, giving way to a breathtaking show. During this eclipse, we could see a change in shade and color in the sky when the Moon slips into the darkness.
Hence the idea of replicating this phenomenon on the dial of one of our iconic models, the WRV 1977 Automatic. After the successful WRV 1977 “Royal” Automatic 1977, recognizable by its dial reminiscent of French Navy uniforms, RALF TECH is now launching the WRV 1977 “Eclipse” Automatic.
This new arrival is in line with the 1977 series, still produced in a Limited Edition of 77 pieces worldwide. It can be easily identified by its dial that changes from bronze to black depending on the amount of ambient light. It is enhanced with “2N18” gold indexes, an alloy of yellow gold, silver, and copper.
The WRV 1977 “Eclipse” Automatic’s crown is positioned at 4 o’clock. This location is ideal for shock protection without overloading the case with a flange or crown protector. It also greatly improves wearing comfort since the crown no longer comes in contact with the middle of the wrist.
Water-resistant up to 200m and certified ISO 6425, the WRV 1977 “Eclipse” Automatic is equipped with a black hand-stitched barenia calfskin strap handmade in the Jura region of France.
This new WRV 1977 “Eclipse” Automatic will also follow you on your sports outings thanks to its silicone strap supplied as part of the standard case equipment.
