In 1996, professional diver Frank Huyghe created the RALF TECH brand. TECH stands for ‘technological’, of course, because it refers to professional equipment, but also to what is known as ‘technical’ or ‘tek’ diving, which is deeper than recreational diving and requires specific equipment.

  • Initially...

    Frank Huyghe, a professional diver and watch collector, began designing and creating technical diving equipment.

  • DIVING EQUIPMENT

    After two years of development, Frank began manufacturing diving equipment.

  • RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

    Frank Huyghe registered the name RALF
    TECH and several patents relating to underwater breathing.

  • SHIPMENTS & FEEDBACK

    RALF TECH became a major player in the underwater world and Frank took part in a number of expeditions (diving in Lake Titicaca, deep dives, etc.) which served as a testament to the brand’s performance.

  • WR1, THE 1ST MODEL

    Frank Huyghe designs the first RALF TECH watch, the automatic WR1.

  • THE WORLD DEPTH RECORD

    of depth in autonomous diving with an immersion of 10h and a lowest point at -330 metres. He is equipped with RALF TECH diving gear and wears a WR1 as standard.

  • THE HUBERT COMMANDO OF THE FRENCH NAVY

    a new version of the WR1 was launched. Called the WR1-K, it was powered by what would later become the Hybrid movement.

  • NEW STRUCTURE, NEW MODEL

    Creation of the new structure and design of the WRX, the brand’s second model.

  • Special forces

    Delivery of the first WRXs to Commando Hubert, soon to be followed by the GIGN and COS (Special Operations Command).

  • WRV, THE 3RD MODEL

    Launched in 2012 and inspired by the 70s, the WRV is a link between two eras. Both vintage and contemporary, it combines the best of both worlds through complex, elegant curves.

  • ON ALL THE OCEANS

    RALF TECH becomes timekeeper for the legendary Vendée Globe ocean race. This was followed by the Transat Jacques Vabre, the English Transat and the Golden Globe (among others).

  • ON THE CIRCUITS

    Partnership with Alpine and success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. RALF TECH went on to develop several other automotive partnerships (Jaguar, Skoda, Lexus).

  • AT THE HEART OF THE ACTION

    RALF TECH equips French combat swimmers, as well as some of their foreign counterparts.

  • ACADEMY, THE MOST CLASSIC MODEL

    Launch of the Académie model. This is the most consensual of the RALF TECH models. Classic in both shape and spirit, it is both simple and elegant. And of course it’s waterproof!

  • PROFESSIONALS

    Back to basics with the fitting out of divers for several offshore subsea work structures.

  • WRB, 4TH MODEL

    launch of the WRB. At 39mm in diameter, it is the most versatile of all RALF TECH divers.

  • THE WORKSHOP

    RALF TECH production is integrated into the PEQUIGNET factory in Morteau in the Doubs region of France.

  • THE BEAST: THE RECORD-BREAKING MODEL

    After more than two years of development and testing, THE BEAST was born. A 100% French Manufacture movement, tested at -4000m, the model set new records.

    The brand delivers its 100th special forces/elite unit. More than 15 countries are

    From its first watch in 2005 to this new model, RALF TECH has always been at the forefront of the conquest of the oceans. Since the dawn of time, man has sought to understand his environment in order to better control it. While we work in space and plan to go to Mars, we are still unable to go to the bottom of the ocean on our own planet.

    Unveiled 5 years ago, the Académie collection celebrates the ‘cadets’ who pass through the prestigious military and police academies. The cadets and, of course, their instructors are the ones who need to learn from their elders.

    Following the launch of the WRX Electric at the end of 2020, RALF TECH is today (5 May) introducing 3 new versions of the WRX in darker colours, heralding the return of the legendary ‘Black Operator’ aka ‘Black O’ for fans of the brand.

    17 place du Marché Saint-Honoré... RALF TECH's new address is located between the houses of haute joaillerie and the area's typical restaurants, a stone's throw from Place Vendôme and Rue Saint-Honoré, in the heart of the capital and the 1st arrondissement of Paris.

  • WRB, THE LAST “LITTLE ONE” IS BACK!

    The latest addition to the RALF TECH family, the WRB renews the genre while preserving the aesthetic codes of the French watchmaker... More discreet than a WRX, its shape is inspired by the WRV. Less imposing than its cousin the WRV, it retains its spirit, main features and functions. Its more ‘reasonable’ dimensions (39mm in diameter) will fit the body of the person who wears it.

  • THE NEW WRX « ELECTRIC » ARE THERE!

    On October 8th, after 2 years of development and experimentation in the natural environment, RALF TECH launched a new generation of WRX combining technical modifications and new finishes. These WRX are, among other things, equipped with a new “Electric” movement, new “Sandwich” dials and an innovative encapsulation system guaranteeing a real waterproofness up to 1000 certified meters.

    A little history... Tuesday 6 June 1944, 00.16 am. It was at this very hour that Major John Howard's men leapt from the carcasses of the six British gliders that had just landed.

  • WRV 1977 Automatique «Eclipse»

    A solar eclipse is a very rare phenomenon that occurs when the Moon moves in front of the Sun, partially or totally obscuring the Sun from planet Earth. This configuration only occurs during the new Moon, when the Moon and Sun are in conjunction in relation to the Earth. The latest, on Tuesday 2 July 2019, was visible in South America and lasted less than three minutes, giving rise to a breathtaking spectacle.
